How To Install ActivDriver?

The ActivDriver is the software that enables a computer to communicate with Promethean interactive whiteboards and panels.

Important Update: ActivDriver is generally no longer required for modern Promethean ActivPanels (Elements series, ActivPanel 9, and ActivPanel LX) unless you are using ActivInspire version 2.x or earlier. Most newer devices function as "plug and play" on modern operating systems. If you have a legacy ActivBoard or an older interactive panel, or if you need to use ActivInspire, you will still need to install the ActivDriver.

Before you begin

1. Check compatibility: Visit the Promethean support website to confirm if your specific ActivPanel or ActivBoard model requires the ActivDriver.
2. Disconnect hardware: Before beginning the installation, ensure that your Promethean hardware is not connected to your computer.
3. Check operating system: Know your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit to download the correct driver.
4. Admin rights: Make sure you have administrator privileges on your computer to install new software.

Step-by-step installation guides

For Windows
